'Woman in Front of the Mirror' by Vincent Tailhardat (circa 1990s)
SKU 0953
'Woman in Front of the Mirror', oil on canvas, by Vincent Tailhardat (circa 1990s). A nude woman seated in front of a mirror grooms herself while engaging with another in the room. They may be sisters with their very similar looks. Also, there is an ease in their rapport that the artist has captured which implies a closeness between the two. Although this is a modern portrait, there is an essence of antiquity in the subjects and the artist's painting style. Generously thick, textural, gravelly use of oil paints are the hallmark of this style. In good condition, the work was recently cleaned and reframed in a modern tray. Signed by the artist in the lower right hand corner. Upon request a video of the artwork may be provided.
