Vintage French Decorative Ceramic Elongated Bottle (20th C)
SKU 2086
Vintage French decorative ceramic bottle (20th Century). Discovered in the city of Lyon, France, and stunning in every aspect, this extraordinary elongated bottle consists of a misty glaze with a dusty coral colour punctuated with flesh tones and darker, cloudy highlights. The elegant shape is asymmetric, raw and seemingly naive and undeveloped. Therein lies its beauty. A maker's mark in the form of a fish is to be found on the underside alongside a simple 'G'. Regrettably, a thorough search of maker's marks could not pinpoint the creative artist. The 'G' however, may refer in French to 'Grand Feu', or High Temperature Firing. The piece is in very good overall condition. Please enjoy the many photos accompanying this listing. Upon request a video will be provided.
