Vintage French Decorative Bowl by Jacques Pouchain for Atelier Dieulefit (circa 1960s)
SKU 1490
Mid-century decorative bowl (circa 1960s) by Jacques Pouchain - Atelier Dieulefit. This elegant bowl, elevated by a small circular base, was created in Pouchain's trademark tones and glaze. The bowl's recess is decorated with a stylised flower in simple Picasso-like lines. The glaze, shape and simple but elegant style of the outer surface is suggestive of Asian pottery or more specifically, Japonisme. In good overall condition. Signed: 'Atelier Dieulefit'. Upon request a video of the piece will be provided.
About the Artist: Jacques Pouchain (1925-2005) left Paris and gave up his architectural training in the 1950s for the South of France to devote himself to art and his pottery studio at Dieulefit.
