Large vintage ceramic table lamp (circa 1950s) by French ceramicist, Jacques Blin. This stunningly beautiful French lamp incorporates Blin's characteristic sgraffito-etchings on its surface. Here there are a series of leaves on their stems. The subtle green-grey hue is accented by the darker misty patches so characteristic of Blin's pieces. It is exquisite, tactile and oozes vintage charm. In very good overall condition. Highly collectible. The shade is not included. The lamp has been re-wired with UK plug but you may have it easily adapted to your location. Signed on the underside: 'J. Blin'. Upon request a video of the piece may be provided.

About the Artist: Jacques Blin (1920-1995), an engineer by trade but with a love for the visual arts. Blin has an immediately recognisable style characterised by a more or less misty appearance of the glaze and by decoration deeply marked in the raw clay, a method he used throughout his career. He frequently depicted fanciful birds and animals, stylised figures, plant life and whimsical abstract motifs in his works. A book of Jacques Blin's life and works has been published called: 'Jacques Blin, Céramiste & Porteur d' Histoires' by Christine Lavenu, Editions Louvre Victoire, 75116 Paris.
