Vintage ceramic table lamp (circa 1960s) by Gustave Reynaud for Le Mûrier. An iconic Le Mûrier design and decoration scheme, the lamp's base colour is done in an oatmeal glaze with a painted mulberry-coloured band and rooster. There are light blue accents in the vegetation and on the stylised rooster. It is elegantly simple with a look that exudes Provence in the South of France. In good overall condition. Maker's mark on underside of piece. Currently wired for UK use and you can easily adapt it for your location by simply having the plug changed or using an adapter. Lamp shade is not included. About the Artist: Gustave Reynaud (1915-1972) founded the pottery, Le Mûrier (Mulberry Tree), in Vallauris, France in 1955. He produced earthenware designed in conjunction with his well known brother-in-law, Jean Derval, as well as vases, wall plaques and anthropomorphic jugs. He also worked with the potter JF Descombes and decorator Michel Barbier in their well known village. After Reynaud's death in 1972 his wife ran the pottery until 1984.
