Vintage French Ceramic Jug by Le Mûrier (circa 1960s)
SKU 1965
Vintage ceramic jug / vase by Gustave Reynaud / Le Mûrier (circa 1960s). This elegant pitcher doubles as a flower vase or simply a delightful work of art for your shelves or table. It is in the trademark style of Gustave Reynaud. On the rustic exterior you will find charming flowers with blue petals as well as leaves and branches on the piece's body. The surface glaze consists of a chalky white base with subtle blue / grey hues and a muted, appealing sheen. This is complemented by the maker's speckled effect in an earth brown, perhaps to symbolise the earth from which the flower grew. The interior mouth surface reveals horizontal bands coinciding with the potter's fabrication marks. Utterly charming and delightfully unassuming, this piece will be the centre of conversation for those lucky enough to have it in their view. In very good overall condition. Please enjoy the many photos with this listing. Maker's mark mulberry flower found on the underside of the piece. Upon request, a video will be provided.
