'Views of Florence II - Neptune and the Pigeons of the Piazza Signoria' by Marcella (1958)
'Views of Florence II - Neptune and the Pigeons of the Piazza Signoria', watercolour on paper (1958), by Marcella (Unknown). A second painting in the series - this is another delightful, radiant depiction of Florence's monuments, buildings, people and plumed creatures. The statue of a bearded Nettuno (Neptune) figures prominently in the piazza amid other colourful vignettes of this main square of Firenze. These scenes are all rendered beautifully here for those devotees of one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Artwork newly framed and glazed. In good vintage condition (please note the white coloured tear in the arm of Neptune). Signed: 'à Fredi Marcella 1958' in the lower right hand corner. Another work from the same series, 'Views of Florence I', is also available.
