'Venasque Village Scene 1 - France', watercolour on paper by unknown (circa 1960s).

Perched at the summit of a rocky outcrop, Venasque is a picturesque village classed amongst one of the most beautiful villages in France. Located in the Vaucluse department in Northern Provence snuggled in between Mont Ventoux and the Dentelles of Montmirai, it has a history going back centuries. This artwork captures a moment in time within the ramparts with a view of the principal street in the village. Sunny blue skies, wineries, village markets and great food - that is Provence and this is a scene from one of its most beautiful villages. Another painting in this series is also available. Newly framed and glazed this work is in excellent vintage condition. The painting is signed but the artist's name is indecipherable. A short video clip of this work can be provided upon request.
