'The Minotaur' by V.R. (circa 1940s - 1960s)
SKU 0466
'The Minotaur', oil on board, (circa 1940s - 1960s) by V.R. Clearly influenced by Picasso and his artworks revolving around bulls and minotaurs, this artist's version is even more abstract, colourful, linear and geometric all at once. With its striking and effective vertical orientation, the depiction is bold and confident. The geometric shapes are filled with colour and shadow covering the spectrum of hues over a grey and blue background. A stunning work of art. Initialed by the artist, 'V.R.' in lower lefthand corner. In good vintage condition in new frame with linen slip insert. A short video clip of this work can be provided upon request.
