'The Fisherman', oil on board, by Gabriel Vié (circa 1940s). This artwork depicts a solitary man fishing in a river surrounded by abundant foliage. He is portrayed as simply one of many natural entities in the bountiful, bucolic habitat. The fisherman is serenely interconnected with the trees on the bank, the plants sprouting from the earth and the fish in the lake. This artwork is newly framed with a French-style linen slip and in good overall condition. It has been recently cleaned and preserved by an art restoration professional assuring its condition for decades to come. It is signed by the artist in the lower right hand.
