'Still Life on Table', oil on board, by Vittorio Maria Di Carlo (circa 1970s). A delightful and colourful work of art inspired by the works of Juan Gris and Pablo Picasso. Like Gris, Di Carlo depicts the stuff of everyday life: a bottle, a ceramic pot cover with bird motif and pieces of fruit which lie on a wooden table for the viewer to savour. The placement and colour of the objects provide for a harmonious and balanced canvas that is compelling and inviting. In very good vintage condition. Newly framed. Signed by the artist: 'V. M. DiCarlo'. Upon request a video of the artwork will be provided.
About the Artist: Vittorio Maria di Carlo was born in 1939 in San Marco in Lamis, Italy. After attending art courses at the State Institute of Bari, he obtained his diploma in painting and decoration. He had been recognised as a young emerging artist in his time and later was remarkably successful in several collective and personal exhibitions both in major Italian cities and around the world: Las Palmas, Barcelona, Manila, Sydney, Zurich, Monte Carlo, Hong Kong, Los Angeles and New York.
