'Springtime View of Italian Walled City' by M. Pozzo (circa 1960s)
SKU 0208
'Springtime View of Italian Walled City', oil on board (circa 1960s), by Italian artist, M. Pozzo. A tree-lined, tranquil path skirts the outside of a walled Italian city. The famous Tuscan type of tower is visible just over the wall as is the dome of the local church. In medieval times the tower was a symbol of power, mainly because the building process was complex and expensive. Only the wealthiest families of merchants and moneylenders could afford the construction. However, you can own this one for just the price of this elegant and well executed painting. In good vintage condition commensurate with age. Upon request a client may be provided a short video clip of this work.
The only thing known about the artist, M. Pozzo, is that he is Italian. This artwork was acquired in Italy in the Tuscan area between Florence and Sienna. It is signed by the artist in the lower right hand corner.
