Set of Three Drawings by Guillaume Dulac (c. 1920s)
Set of three drawings (c. 1920s), (two being studies for larger works) by French artist, Guillaume Dulac (1883 - 1929). Pencil on fine paper, newly framed with glass and/or reconditioned. In very good vintage condition commensurate with their age.
An exquisite grouping of three drawings available together as one set. Two of the sketches are studies for larger works planned by the artist. The sketches are connected by artist and style but not subject matter. They are all from the early 20th century and executed using pencil on fine paper by Dulac. The seated male nude in artist's model pose and beached boats sketches in Yport are both detailed; the violinist is beautifully imprecise. Boats sketch written in lower left corner: 'Yport 17-5-23'. The violinist drawing is signed by the artist under the 'Concert' reference. Some of the artist's writing on the drawings is illegible.
This is a historical collection from an artist born in the 19th century but who died while a relatively young man and about whom very little is known. Because of the quality of his art, his works have been sold at auction and collected internationally. This set would enhance a corridor or hallway of your home or perhaps ideally placed along a staircase or in an office or library. Given their age, they are in very good vintage condition - all showing very minor fading. The boat sketch has been recently framed and glazed and the other two are in their original frames with reconditioned backing and new glass.
