SKU 0345
A decorative ceramic bowl by artist Roger Capron (1922 - 2006) who founded the craft-based workshop in Vallauris, France, l'Atelier Callis. Capron's creations contributed to a veritable renaissance of pottery and ceramics in that era and he left behind a considerable body of internationally acclaimed works which is collected worldwide. Capron’s colourful, exuberant ceramic art clearly displayed a Picasso influence, while maintaining a distinctive Capron visage. The white glaze, applied by dipping, for which Capron became famous disappeared from his works by the end of the 1950s. This is a unique piece of Capron's work for both true connoisseurs of this celebrated master or for those looking for a beautiful addition to their home. Signed on the bottom: 'Capron - Vallauris'.
