A cubist nude portrait of a reclining woman in model pose, in gouache on fine art paper (1957), by artist Kosta Stojanovitch. This work is one in a series of four images. Here, a shapely model lies in repose for the artist. She seems perfectly at ease implying perhaps, a personal connection with the creator. The body's lines and contours are rendered in cubist style defined by vibrant colours which breathe life into the work. Although the art is executed naïvely, it surely must have seemed very avant-garde in its day. This piece has been reframed and glazed and is in good vintage condition commensurate with age. The work is signed: 'Kosta 57'. Upon request, a brief video clip may be provided for context.
