SKU 1474
'Reclining Nude in the Garden', oil on canvas (circa 1950s), French School (signed M Thery). A vibrantly colourful abstract depiction of a reclining nude sleeping in the garden which must surely be inspired by the works of Pablo Picasso. The subject and foliage nearby is outlined with simple blue lines. Seemingly emanating from the figure are dramatic swirls and shapes of intense colour. Perhaps they represent a passionate dream state? Discovered in the South of France, the painting is signed by the artist however, research of the name regrettably unearthed no relevant information. The artist's abundant talent strikes through in this work of creative mastery. The work has been beautifully framed and is in good condition overall commensurate with age. Please enjoy the many photos accompanying the listing. Upon request a video may be provided.
