'Preparing to Parade', oil on board, by V. Rizand (c. 1860s). At the crack of dawn a mixed group of French military men prepare themselves for parade. Onlookers from the nearby village seem to look on with amusement. This art work is in fair vintage condition commensurate with its age. The paint upon the board is showing signs of ageing such as cracking and chipping but does not detract from perceiving the image as intended. Newly framed and signed in the lower right hand corner, 'V. Rizand'.
