'Portrait of Spanish Woman', acrylic on canvas, signed 'Duran', circa 1980s. A stylised, bust-length modernist portrait of a woman which draws on early 20th-century influences (notably Modigliani's elongated facial forms and Picasso's bisected, dual-toned facial planes). The composition centres on large, almond-shaped, heavy-lidded eyes and an elongated oval face divided into contrasting cool and warm colour fields. The artwork is charmingly rendered with visible impasto and confident brushwork in a muted palette accented by deep red lips. The subject could be right out of a Pedro Almodovar film. 

The painting is in good overall condition. It is signed by an unknown 'Duran' in the lower left hand. It is in a new tray frame ready for hanging. Please enjoy the many photos accompanying this listing. Upon request a video will be provided.
