Artist and one of Vietnam's foremost art critics, Phan Cam Thuong (1957 -     ) is widely collected and boasts a significant readership having written eight books on Vietnamese art. This painting is black ink on fine Vietnamese paper and beautifully framed.  Painted in 1997, the image depicts a sacred ceremony, a flute player, masked men, robed monks gathering together.  The image is beguiling and filled with intrigue - a wonderfully harmonious composition.
