Mid-Century Italian Ceramic Bowl with Lid by Alessio Tasca (circa 1960s)
SKU 2614
Vintage Italian ceramic bowl with lid by Alessio Tasca (circa 1960s). A delightful frieze of abstract motifs encircle the piece on the main body and at the recessed body supporting the opening. The fading colours in yellow and orange simply add even more character to a vintage piece by this world renowned Italian ceramicist. There is an element in the decor somewhat reminiscent of Arizona, USA. It is showing its age yet at the same time the process has magnified its beauty and distinctiveness. The interior of the bowl is a plane creamy white with some evident age markings. Perfect as a conversation-starting display in your home . Maker's mark on the underside: 'AT'. Also visible is a vintage sticker with product number, production town (Nove, Italy near Vicenza) a five-digit telephone number and of course, producer name. Five-digit telephone numbers in Vicenza, Italy date to pre-1965. The bowl is in fair-to-good overall condition solely due to the subdued fading of colour which has the effect of adding to its incredible vintage character. Please enjoy the many photos accompanying the listing. Upon request a video will be provided.
