Ceramic table lamp base by the atelier Le Mûrier, Vallauris, France (circa 1960s). The gourd-form body is glazed in a soft, mottled beige tone, hand-decorated with stylised blue foliate motifs encircling the lower body, with a raised horizontal ridge marking the transition to the neck. The lamp does not include the pictured shade. In good overall condition. Currently wired for use in Europe, but can be rewired once received. Signed with the workshop's mulberry mark to the underside, confirming attribution to Le Mûrier. Please enjoy the many photos accompanying this listing. Upon request a video will be provided.

About Le Mûrier: Gustave Reynaud (1915-1972) founded the pottery, Le Mûrier (Mulberry Tree), in Vallauris, France in 1955. He produced earthenware designed in conjunction with his well known brother-in-law, Jean Derval, as well as vases, wall plaques and anthropomorphic jugs. He also worked with the potter JF Descombes and decorator Michel Barbier in their well known village. After Reynaud's death in 1972 his wife ran the pottery until 1984.
