Ceramic lamp (c. 1950s) by Jacques Blin (1920 - 1995). This lamp has a 'minimalist' version of Blin's signature cloudy glaze featuring etchings of leafy plant life. It features an elegant inverted funnel shape with powdery greenish backdrop. The lamp is in good vintage condition and highly collectible. Re-wired for UK usage. Signed on the base: 'J Blin'. Please note: Lamp shade is not included.

About the Artist: Jacques Blin was an engineer by trade but with a love for the visual arts. His style is immediately recognisable. His signature glaze is characterised by a more or less misty appearance and by decoration deeply marked in the raw clay, a method he used throughout his career. He frequently used fanciful birds, primitive animals, stylised figures and whimsical abstract motifs in his works which are always signed "J. Blin".

Dimensions:

H (to top of ceramic base) 20.5 cm / 8.1"
