Mid-Century French Ceramic Flower Vase by Jacques Blin (circa 1960s)
SKU 2545
Vintage French ceramic flower vase by Jacques Blin (circa 1960s). Unique in its style and decoration, its form is classical with incised decor of stylised animals, like those found in early cave drawings. Of course Jacques Blin's trademark misty glaze and light green patina make this piece a treat for the eyes and a serious piece for collectors. It is in good overall condition. Signed: 'J Blin', on the underside. Please enjoy the many photos accompanying the listing. Upon request a video will be provided.
About the Artist: Jacques Blin (1920-1995), an engineer by trade but with a love for the visual arts. Blin has an immediately recognisable style characterised by a more or less misty appearance of the glaze and by decoration deeply marked in the raw clay, a method he used throughout his career. He frequently depicted fanciful birds, primitive animals, stylised figures and whimsical abstract motifs in his works which are always signed "J. Blin".
