Mid-Century French Ceramic Cat Vase (circa 1960s)
SKU 1096
Mid-Century French ceramic cat vase (circa 1960s). Picasso himself was known to have loved cats and was photographed with kittens or cats throughout his lifetime. They appeared in many of his works. Enduring as a cultural and social icon, the cat symbolised femininity, sensuality, domesticity and lust. This delightful but serious ceramic sculpture was discovered in the South of France. It is in good vintage condition but research on the maker's mark was unsuccessful. Please enjoy the many photos of the piece accompanying this listing. Upon request a video may be provided.
