Mid-century ceramic vase (circa 1960s) by Marcel Giraud, Vallauris, France. A large piece with a graceful, curvy shape, wide mouth and sandy-white coloured base, it is the epitome of vintage 20th century style. This stunning vase has a tribal-like floral motif around its centre. On the lip you will find an elegant, meandering line decoration. Sure to be a conversation piece in your home or work place. About the Artist: Marcel Giraud (born 1937), from Vallauris, France left school at the age of 13 to become an apprentice potter at the workshop of Blaise Rubino. He later worked at several other workshops in the area until he opened his own studio in 1960 creating mostly utilitarian ware. Since 1975 Giraud has taken up painting, sculpture and continues to create sculptural figures, animals and other decorative objects in his retirement.
