Mid-century ceramic glazed table lamp (circa 1970s) by Marcel Giraud, Vallauris, France. A piece with a graceful, elongated bottle shape with wide centre in a muted chalk-coloured base that tapers inwards towards the top. There is a wide central band featuring a tribal floral motif with similar colouring at the lip. Sure to be a conversation piece in your home or work place. In good overall condition with a new lamp holder, electrical fitting (Edison type E27). Please enjoy the many photos accompanying this listing. Upon request, a video will be provided. Maker's mark not evident yet undeniably the work of Marcel Giraud. Lamp shade is not included. Wired for European use however, may be easily modified to your region by changing the plug or by using an adapter.

About the Artist: Marcel Giraud (born 1937), from Vallauris, France left school at the age of 13 to become an apprentice potter at the workshop of Blaise Rubino. He later worked at several other workshops in the area until he opened his own studio in 1960, creating mostly utilitarian ware. Since the 1990s, Giraud has taken up painting, sculpture and continues to create sculptural figures, animals and other decorative objects.
