Mid-century ceramic table lamp by Jacques Blin (circa 1950s). This beautifully off-white lamp with sgraffito-etched fanciful animals and birds over the trademark misty glaze with dusty effect finish is quintessential Jacques Blin. In good condition commensurate with age. Highly collectible. The shade is not included. Currently wired for UK use but may be easily adapted locally to your electrical usage. Signed on the underside: 'J. Blin'. Please enjoy the accompanying photos to this listing. Upon request, a short video clip of the piece may be provided.

About the Artist: Jacques Blin (1920-1995), an engineer by trade but with a love for the visual arts. Blin has an immediately recognisable style characterised by a more or less misty appearance of the glaze and by decoration deeply marked in the raw clay, a method he used throughout his career. He frequently depicted fanciful birds, primitive animals, stylised figures, plant life and whimsical abstract motifs in his works.
