'Landscape with Two Bathers', oil on panel, by Guillaume Dulac (circa 1920s). Dulac's oils and drawings manifest an elegant classicism with an immediately identifiable style. It is these qualities which are so attractive both aesthetically and in the context as an investment in fine art. Our gallery holds virtually the entire remaining collection of Guillaume Dulac's sketches and memorabilia with impeccable provenance. In this acquisition of a Dulac oil painting, one finds a depiction of two women, one of them in the nude, seated on the edge of a bathing pool. The other is peacefully seated on a comfortable boulder stone nearby. In the background, a pastoral tableau of French countryside delights and invites the viewer into the scene. This painting is approximately 100 years old and is in fair-to-good condition having been cleaned and reconditioned by an art restoration specialist. Some cracking remains in the paint (see photos). The artwork has been newly framed with museum quality components and attention to detail. On the reverse of the painting, an original exhibition label has been preserved and visible. It states the title of the work: "14' Paysage aux deux Baigneuses" (the reference to number 14 is unclear). Please enjoy the many photos accompanying this listing. Upon request a video may be provided.

Please note that a series of Dulac's sketches may be also acquired from our gallery on this platform to create a set to enhance a corridor or stairway of your home or workplace.

About the Artist: Guillaume Dulac (1883-1929) is a French artist born in the 19th century. He was a close associate of other well known artists such as Charles Camoin and Albert Marquet. He exhibited his works in Paris' Salon des Indépendents in 1905, in the Salon de l'Union Artistique of Toulouse in 1908-1910 and had an artistic presence in the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts. His last exhibit was in the Salon des Tuileries in June of 1929. In December of that same year, his body was recovered having drowned in the Seine river and lies now in the famous Père-Lachaise cemetery. Because of the evident quality and desirability of his art, his works have been enthusiastically pursued at auction by loyal and determined international collectors. In La Ciotat, France, near Marseille, there is a street named after this artist: l'Avenue Guillaume Dulac
