Italian Rattan and Bamboo Floor Lamp (circa 1960s)
Italian rattan and bamboo floor lamp (circa 1960s). A circular bamboo base provides the stylishly supporting attachment points for three legs which intertwine to form the main structure of this elegantly simple design. The shade is formed by rattan verticals connecting with the base and top with light muted by a linen piece on the interior. There is a two inch (5 cm) tear about midway up the linen shade lining. It can be handily obscured by turning that section towards the wall. In addition, there are some characterful blemishes throughout the piece commensurate with its age but it does not stop it from transporting you right to the sun and sand of the Italian Riviera. How can so much style emanate from one piece? In fair vintage condition. Re-wired for use in the UK. Upon request, a video clip of the lamp may be provided.
