Italian 'Piramide' Brass Table Lamp by Tonello and Montagna Grillo for High Society (circa 1970s) - Small
SKU 2701
A vintage Italian table lamp from the “Piramide” series, designed by A. Tonello and A. Montagna Grillo for High Society. This is a smaller size from the series. The three-sided brass body rises from a triangular base with faceted sides tapering to a slender, flared neck. As the light moves across it, each facet catches a different tone of warm, brushed gold, giving the piece a lovely presence. High Society’s lamps combined architectural shapes with fine Italian metalwork, and the Piramide became one of the defining designs of 1970s Italian lighting. This smaller version is ideal for a bedside table, desk or console. The lamp is in good operating condition with some characterful blemishes, scratches and a patina consistent with age. It is currently wired for European use but can be easily adapted to your location either by changing the plug or simply using an adapter. The lamp shade is not included. Please enjoy the many photos accompanying the listing. Upon request a video will be provided.

About the Producer: High Society was an Italian lighting company active in the 1970s, producing sculptural lamps in brass and chrome to designs by A. Tonello and A. Montagna Grillo. Their ‘Piramide’ series, with its faceted, geometric forms, became the company’s signature design. It was made in a range of sizes and finishes, and it remains one of the most recognisable pieces of 1970s Italian lighting.
