'Interieur' by Lili Pieter Van Leer (1950)

'Interieur', oil on canvas (1950), by Lili Pieter Van Leer (1905 - 1966). The sensuous mood captured by the artist in this work is extraordinary. The subdued colours of the evening light seep through the delicate conservatory-style windows. The unpretentious brush strokes contrast with the room's elegant ambience and the inviting colours of the floral bouquet and fruit on the table. The setting is beguiling. The original frame, characterful as it is, perfectly complements and expresses the essential mood of the artwork. It is an 'Interieur'...and so much more. Signed by the artist: 'Pieter 50'. In excellent vintage condition. A short video clip of this work may be provided upon request.
