'Inspiration' by Locatelli (Circa 1970s)

'Inspiration', oil on canvas (circa 1970s), by Locatelli. This piece was obtained in the south of France. The art is of the period in which vivid colour was at the vanguard. Here there are purples and blues which set the stage for this very seductive work. Seemingly, models interact informally on a break from their structured poses as they await the return of the artist. In the end, the artist preferred depicting them as they are naturally capturing them unaware. The image is curiously beautiful. This is a compelling work with balanced composition and an extraordinary treatment of colour and light. In very good vintage condition commensurate with its age.
