French Tôleware Side Table with Flower Bouquet Motif (circa 1950s)
French Tôleware side table with flower bouquet motif and glass top (circa 1950s). The term tôle, derived from the French tôle peinte, "painted sheet metal", is synonymous in English usage with japanning on tin. This is a lovely, rustic example of the art discovered in Paris. Oozing simple charm, the table is in fair vintage condition. One must celebrate its many characterful imperfections in the form of nicks, scrapes, blemishes, marks and streaks. Please carefully view the accompanying photos to best assess the table's condition and style. Upon request a video may be provided.
