French Mid-Century Decorative Bowl by Marcel Giraud (circa 1960s)
SKU 2542
A delightful mid-century decorative bowl by French ceramicist Marcel Giraud, dating from the 1960s. The design features a rustic, even-glazed base and wall in oatmeal accented tones. Incised at the base are four small, rounded rectangles with inner leaf motifs. The rim carries a matching hue and an incised, leaf repeating pattern, adding further visual and tactile interest. The markings and palette are characteristic of Giraud’s hand, making this a fine and representative example of his work. In good overall condition, with ‘Giraud’ incised to the underside. Giraud’s ceramics are increasingly sought after, as collectors and design enthusiasts alike recognise the artistic creativity and craftsmanship embodied in his work.
