For purchased items BIA do offer a 7 day cooling off-period whereby the customer is entitled to a full refund (excluding shipping charges), no questions asked. To notify us that you wish to cancel the order, simply contact us. Once the products reach us and are confirmed to be in the same condition at shipping, we will issue a refund to your original payment account within 5 business days. All sales are final after 7 days unless the goods in question are proven faulty/unfit for purpose. This does not affect your statutory rights.
We encourage BIA shoppers to view vintage items in person when possible. Please contact us if you would like to view an item before purchase. Our private showroom is located in London, SE16, near Canada Water underground station. In the case of high value items, BIA may be able to convey the item to your home to facilitate a viewing in your own space. This applies to London post codes only.
A cubist nude portrait of a seated woman, in gouache on fine art paper (1955), by artist Kosta Stojanovitch. This work is one in a series of four images. Here, an imposing woman lounges comfortably on a modern chair in a pose for the artist wearing only two yellow bracelets. As in other cubist works, the body's lines and contours are rendered in collage-style layers with angles defined by vibrant colours which add resonance to the work. Although the art is executed naïvely, it surely must have seemed very avant-garde in its day. This piece has been reframed and glazed and is in very good vintage condition commensurate with age. The work is signed: 'K Stoya 55'. Upon request, a brief video clip may be provided for context.
