Cubist Nude Portrait of Seated Woman by Kosta Stojanovitch (1954)

A cubist nude portrait of a seated woman, in gouache on fine art paper (1954), by artist Kosta Stojanovitch. This work is one in a series of four images. Here, a statuesque woman sits comfortably on the cushioned floor in a pose for the artist. There is a regal air about the model which the artist has captured perfectly. The body's lines and contours are rendered in cubist style defined by vibrant colours which breathe life into the work. Although the art is executed naïvely, it surely must have seemed very avant-garde in its day. This piece has been reframed and glazed and is in very good vintage condition commensurate with age. The work is signed: 'KS 54'. Upon request, a brief video clip may be provided for context.
