Ceramic Vase with Flower Motif from Vallauris, France (circa 1950s)
SKU 0729
Ceramic Vase with Flower Motif from Vallauris, France (circa 1950s), by unknown ceramicist. A delightful vase with off-white ceramic background interrupted by a vividly coloured red flower and its leaves. The body of the vase presents a repeating design of brown spots adding interest and colour as well as texture in the form of an uneven but tactile surface. The piece is showing its age with characterful marks and nicks particularly with subtle age-crackling on the interior surface. Overall it is in fair vintage condition. Exploding with personality, the piece remains unsigned. 'Vallauris' appears on the base of the piece. This is the village where Picasso lived with his family while creating ceramics of his own for nearly seven years. Upon request a video of the vase will be provided.
