An alluring cobalt-blue ceramic table lamp (c. 1950s) by Jacques Blin (1920-1995). This lamp is a vivid cobalt colour with whimsical birds that are wonderfully unsophisticated, simple and even primeval. This is a much sought-after style. Fully functional and in excellent vintage condition -  lampshade not included. Signed: 'J. Blin'.

About the Artist: Jacques Blin (1920 - 1995) gave up a career in engineering for his love of the visual arts. Blin has an immediately recognisable style characterised by a more or less misty appearance of the glaze and by decoration deeply marked in the raw clay, a method he used throughout his career. He frequently depicted fanciful birds and animals, stylised figures and abstract motifs in his works which are always signed "J. Blin".
