Ask a Question

Brass and glass vase or wine bucket by David Marshall (circa 1970s). This piece  is elegantly rugged, beautifully trodden and irregularly formed. The glass vessel has a rounded bottom fitting snugly into its four-legged brass holder. It is charmingly distressed and therein lies its beauty. Raw, brutal, weighty and alluring. Maker's mark (DM) appears on lower brass circular base. The piece is in fair vintage condition with very characterful wear marks, nicks, dents and cracks consistent with its fabrication, age and usage. Please see accompanying photographs for detail. Upon request a video of the piece can be provided.

About the Designer: More than fifty years ago, attracted by the climate, light and magnificent scenery David Marshall left his native Scotland, settled in southern Spain and commenced his artistic career. Inspired by the mountainous surroundings and all the detritus of nature – David developed a thriving design business working with institutional and private clients worldwide. His metal works from the 1970s have become iconic and are now seriously collectible pieces.
