Aluminium and brass brutalist style serving tray by Leopold, s.c., (circa 1970s). In the style of David Marshall, this superb piece presents an art deco style image of a female nude incised in the centre brass circle. The tray is rugged, battered and characterful and therein lies its beauty. With handles extending from the outer brass circle it is both beautiful and practical all at once. It derives its strength from its weightiness; its charms are both visual and tactile. The maker's mark is impressed on the characterfully-worn leather surface of the base.
