'Abstract Proportions', Italian School (1971)
SKU 0608
'Abstract Proportions', oil on canvas, Italian School (1971). Acquired on the Italian Riviera, the artwork combines colour and fanciful geometric shapes which partition the piece in smaller windows. The shapes are seemingly magnified in the composition. They stitch together the pieces of a person in abstract viewed through a prism of colour. Regrettably, nothing is known of the artist who created this inspiring piece. He / she initialed and dated the piece in the lower righthand corner. The artwork is in fair vintage condition with evident blemishing along the far edges, minute cracking of the paint commensurate with age, and a slight tear in the upper righthand quadrant (please see accompanying photos). The overall effect however is not diminished and the piece delivers a delightful, colourful and balanced composition. Newly framed in a natural, wooden tray. Upon request a video of the piece will be provided.
