Abstract Composition by V.R. (circa 1940s - 1960s)
SKU 0462
Abstract composition, oil on board, by V.R. (circa 1940s - 1960s). Painterly layers of colour fill geometric shapes creating balance and texture. Clearly inspired by the works of Picasso, muted hues of pink, beige and yellow contrast with the structural dark lines and the greys on the edges of the work. They all come together to form a bold yet proportionate composition. In good vintage condition in new frame with linen slip insert. Initialed by the artist, 'V.R.' in lower righthand corner. A short video clip of this work will be provided upon request.
Our gallery has access to a cache of paintings from Berlin in the 1940s - 1960s. Several galleries have acquired and are now selling these works which speaks to the widespread assessment of the quality and interest of the art by the artist with the initials 'V.R.'.
