A Set of Two Artworks from the French School (circa late 19th Century)
SKU 0684, 0685
A set of two diminutive artworks from the French School (circa late 19th Century). 'Le Restaurant' and 'Le Jardin', both oil on board, by unknown artist. Discovered in the South of France, the artworks depict a pair of men and women in two different settings: one in a formal restaurant and the other, in very casual surroundings enjoying their day in a summertime garden. The works are a curious slice of history and perfect as a conversation piece and to fill that vacant niche in your home or workplace. The paintings are in fair vintage condition showing some fading and minor blemishing commensurate with age. No artist's signature is visible. The original ornate frames were very damaged and have been replaced by new frames and backing.
