About the Artist: Yvon Grac, born in 1945 in Nice, France, highly regarded for his bold, dynamic works and a very distinctive personal style. He lives and works in Nice, where he maintains his studio, and describes himself as a "painter of joie de vivre and happiness" — a philosophy reflected throughout his body of work. He is particularly known for his vibrant, energetic use of colour, which is deliberately intended to evoke joy, happiness and positivity in the viewer. His subjects lean heavily toward the sun-drenched landscapes and street life of the Côte d'Azur — the beaches of Nice, the Promenade des Anglais, the terraces of Juan-les-Pins and Cannes — as well as Parisian scenes.
He has exhibited widely throughout France and in many countries, and his paintings are held in numerous private collections worldwide. His works are regularly offered at auction through French houses as well as through international dealers.
