'Cubist Composition', oil on board (circa 1940s - 1060s) by V.R. Blackened outlines frame colourful geometric shapes filled with colour, spots, more lines and curls and loops. Reds, salmon-pinks, mustard-yellows and multiple hues in between combine to create this wonderfully balanced cubist composition. In good vintage condition commensurate with age. Regrettably, nothing is known of this artist, V.R., other than they lived in Berlin in the period after WWII. Several galleries have acquired and are now selling these works which speaks to the widespread assessment of the quality and interest of the art. In good vintage condition in new frame with linen slip insert. Initialed by the artist, 'V.R.' in lower right hand corner. A short video clip of this work can be provided upon request.
