About the designer: Louis Sognot (1892 - 1969) famously collaborated with the Atelier Primavera founded in 1912 by the Parisian department store, Printemps, in order to create crafted modern furniture and objects. Sognot conceived functional and elegant pieces using innovative materials, especially rattan, which gave a contemporary feel to his designs. A professor at l'Ecole Boulle, Sognot inspired many post-war designers and contributed significantly to the character of the 1950s aesthetic.
