Vintage French Coffee Table by Roger Capron (circa 1970s)
SKU 2278
A striking example of Roger Capron’s celebrated ceramic artistry, this mid-century coffee table features a richly coloured, hand-glazed tile top in tones of red, black, and earthy green. The geometric and botanical motifs—typical of Capron’s distinctive visual language—are arranged in a bold, rhythmic composition that immediately draws the eye. The top is mounted on a beautifully patinated black iron base, featuring a curved stretcher that lends a sculptural elegance and visual balance to the piece. Robust yet refined, this table is a testament to the enduring appeal of French modernist design from the Vallauris school. Found on the table's corner surface tile is the maker's signature. While the table top is in overall good condition, one corner tile has had a very small crack restored by an industry professional. Please enjoy the many accompanying photos to this listing. Upon request a video will be provided.
