Small vintage ceramic vase by Gustave Reynaud, Le Mûrier (circa 1950s). This delightful flower vase is a work of art in the trademark style of Gustave Reynaud. On the rustic exterior you will find charming foliage with baby blue petals along with leaves and branches on the piece's body. The surface glaze consists of a chalky white base with subtle blue / grey hues and a muted but appealing sheen. The interior surface reveals horizontal bands coinciding with the potter's fabrication marks. Utterly charming and delightfully unassuming, this small piece will be a lovely addition to your home or workplace. In good vintage condition. Maker's mark on underside of piece. About the Artist: Gustave Reynaud (1915-1972) founded the pottery, Le Mûrier (Mulberry Tree), in Vallauris, France in 1955. He produced earthenware designed in conjunction with his well known brother-in-law, Jean Derval, as well as vases, wall plaques and anthropomorphic jugs. He also worked with the potter, J-F Descombes, and decorator Michel Barbier in their well known village in the French Riviera. After Reynaud's death in 1972 his wife ran the pottery until 1984.
