There is a sense of the outdoors in this composition with the sky and the sea as the setting. Thick layers of colour are piled one atop another creating texture and motion. Muted hues of blue and green contrast with black, navy blue and grey all coming together to form a bold yet proportionate arrangement. Acquired in the south of France, this abstract has that je-ne-sais-quoi character about it that makes it distinctive and attractive. It's got a quality that is certainly hard to define, but at the same time remaining very desirable. New frame, museum-quality mount and glass. In excellent vintage condition commensurate with its age. Signed in lower right hand corner, 'Dumont'.
