'The Parting II', gouache on fine art paper (1967) by Elisabeth Hoffova. A unique mid-century modernist painting with vivid colours, impeccable technique and intriguing subject matter. 'The Parting II' depicts three figures - two men and a woman. Symbolically, the two men are separated by the smiling woman in the middle who is seemingly enjoying what is transpiring in the scene. Signed in the lower lefthand: 'Hoffova 7-67'. The frame is glazed and is entirely original and beautiful in its own right in fair condition with characterful markings, cracks, nicks and blemishes.
